Surrey Hills LEADER invests over £363,000 in 2010.
The Surrey Hills LEADER grant scheme has supported 32 local businesses from April 2010 to March 2011 with a combined total of £363, 800 spent on new and existing enterprises. From community projects such as new buildings for the Normandy Community Therapy Gardens to helping provide new equipment for exciting enterprises such as Dynamic Adventures, the scheme has helped create sustainable businesses, preserve traditional skills, promote the Surrey Hills as a quality tourist destination and maintain the diversity and management of the countryside.

Surrey Hills LEADER Grant Programme is successful!
The Surrey Hills LEADER grant scheme was launched in December 2008.
Since launching almost £340,000 has been awarded to 24 successful projects which includes Hugh Broom; a farmer, diversifying into woodfuel production, Ben Nicholson; a forestry contractor, purchasing an industrial sized woodchipper, Arbuthnot Village Hall, installing a new kitchen, All time Catering, acquiring a new Surrey Hills branded outside catering van and Bob Mathias, a nursery owner having funding to produce a new website.
Some 145 Expressions of Interest have been received to date, completed applications are put in front of the monthly decision making panel. With £660,000 to spend between April 10 and March 11 the panels will be kept very busy this year!
