Yes - charities are eligible to apply for certain aspects of the funding.

How do I prove benefits to a business or community within the LEADER area if my project falls outside of the area?
I.e. A Farm shop located outside the LEADER area could sell produce from numerous farmers/producers who are located within the LEADER area.
I.e. A Community hall or project located outside the area would need to demonstrate that the principal group of residents to benefit from the project are located within the LEADER area.
Will I definitely be awarded a grant at the panel?
No, the LEADER application process is a competitive process and only the projects which give the greatest benefits and fit with our local strategy will be funded. The panel members will hear all applications and will decide on that day which projects should be funded.
How do you split the funds between the different areas that are eligible for funding?
Each area eligible for funding has an allocated sum of money within it - when projects have used all the funds in that area - no more funding can take place until the following financial year (April). You will be advised at time of full application the funding left in the area your project fits into.
