If you fall outside the Surrey Hills LEADER but your project can demonstrate good benefits to the community / businesses within the Surrey Hills LEADER area – you may still be eligible to apply.

The Process

We ask you to complete an expression of interest form first to ensure eligibility of your project. We will work with you at every stage of the process to ensure a good application is made to the panel. NOTE: you must not start work, purchase items or make commitments to purchase items on which you with to claim grant prior to receiving a grant contract.

Stage One:

Expression of Interest

A short form in which you detail your proposed project. If the project fulfils the Surrey Hills LEADER criteria – you will be invited to submit a full application.

Stage Two:

Full Application:

You will be sent a full application form. You will be asked to submit additional documentation to support your application. (including; Project/Business plan, 3 years of audited accounts, letters of support, 2/3 quotations for each item of expenditure) We will work with you to help you complete the application.

The Decision Making Panel

The completed application is presented to the Local Action Group panel, (along with a short video presentation about your project, which is optional and please don’t worry –we will film the video).The panel will review all applications presented and propose funding as appropriate. (It is a competitive process). Panels are held monthly.

The Decision

You will be advised of the panel’s decision approx ten days after the panel has been held.

The Contract

If your application has been successful you will be asked to sign a contract.

The Project

Once the contract is signed you may begin your project.

The Claim

You are able to claim the items listed in the contract once an invoice has been submitted, (limited to two claims).
