  • Small scale capital costs for improving facilities within a village
  • Costs associated with the establishment of a new basic service, for example an afternoon centre for the elderly, child care centre
  • Internet access for all in rural areas – for example provision of computers in community halls
  • Cultural and leisure activities – for example to develop recreational facilities or community gardens
  • Developing community shops or buildings
  • Small scale infrastructure projects such as signposting
  • Marketing support
  • Heritage projects
