Your project must be based within the Surrey Hills LEADER area OR if it falls outside of the area it must be able to demonstrate how it benefits the businesses or communities within the LEADER area.
The Surrey Hills LEADER funding is for farmers, foresters, growers, small rural businesses and community enterprises to enable them to support the local economy or rural community. A large range of activities can be considered up to £50,000.
Surrey Hills LEADER is looking for projects which:
- Broaden your business to make it more sustainable
- Increase competitiveness and profitability of a business or activity
- Enhance the rural community economically, socially and environmentally
- Are renewable – contribute to low energy usage
- Offer wider benefits – to other people or businesses and have community support
- Add value and develop new products or markets
- Develops a brand new business or community project
- Involve a business with fewer than ten full-time employees OR a partnership or social enterprise, voluntary or community group, registered charity or not-for-profit organisation.
- Are innovative
- Are co-operative and bring groups or businesses together
